How To Train Your Dragon

On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup (Mason Thames) stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society.

With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (Nico Parker) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding.

As an ancient threat emerges, endangering both Vikings and dragons, Hiccup’s friendship with Toothless becomes the key to forging a new future. Together, they must navigate the delicate path toward peace, soaring beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefining what it means to be a hero and a leader.

Regal Explore- Bird (15)

Regal Explore- Bird

The long-awaited return to fiction filmmaking from Academy Award-winner Andrea Arnold (American Honey, Fish Tank), BIRD is a tender, striking and extraordinarily surprising coming-of-age fable about marginalised life in the fringes of contemporary society. 12-year-old Bailey (astounding newcomer Nykiya Adams) lives with her devoted but chaotic single dad Bug (Barry Keoghan, Saltburn) and wayward brother Hunter in a squat in Gravesend, north Kent. Approaching puberty and seeking attention and adventure, Bailey’s fractured home life is transformed when she encounters Bird (Franz Rogowski, Passages), a mysterious stranger on a journey of his own. A wondrous portrait of the transition from childhood to adolescence that remains grounded in her typically empathetic social realism, Arnold’s latest strides to the wildly poetic rhythm of her own drum.

Regal Explore invites our audience to “discover” an alternative movie experience. Each month a specially selected independent/arthouse film will be screened which offers our customers something different from the usual mainstream film schedule. A 20-minute presentation/discussion proceeds the film and is including in the noted runtime.

Topping the bill is multi-talented award winning comedian Phil Nichol, an acclaimed actor, producer, presenter, writer and musician who has also made various appearances on Radio and TV. Bursting with fun and frivolity, he loves to break boundaries and try something whilst enjoying a wonderfully hilarious mix of ridiculous rants, on practically every farcical subject conceivable. Audiences are always fascinated by his magnetic persona.

Opening the night will be the somewhat cynical and gloomy Mike Gunn, who despite this has the ability to get the crowd on his side, however far he pushes! In his first Edinburgh Festival Show, he appeared as a funeral director! He has appeared on numerous TV programmes, including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Celebrity Deal or no Deal (CH 4), and Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV). He has also been a contributor for The Guardian and written for Time Out, The List and Match of the Day Magazine and was support for Lee Mack on a huge theatre tour

Completing the line-up is Samantha Day who has been described as “The real deal, a fresh voice tempered by a life full of square peg experiences”.

Compere for the night will be Martin Westgate who appeared on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and made the judges chuckle with cheeky digs at David Walliams.
