Christmas Karma (PG)

Christmas Karma
Charles Dickens’s classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ is reimagined through a modern lens in this vibrant musical infused with themes of identity and inclusion, set in contemporary London. The story follows Mr. Sood, a wealthy, British Asian businessman who scorns generosity and exploits his staff on zero-hour contracts. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by three spirits who guide him first through his past as a refugee, then to open his eyes to his present and the damage being caused by his disdain for those around him, and finally to look upon a bleak future shaped by his selfishness. Through these encounters, Sood confronts prejudice, lost love, and the consequences of his choices, ultimately rediscovering empathy and the joy of giving, with a little bit of encouragement along the way from a jolly London cab driver. With a rich, multicultural soundtrack blending gospel, bhangra, rap, and pop, the film celebrates Britain’s diverse communities and the spirit of the season.

Wicked: For Good (PG)

Wicked: For Good
And now whatever way our stories end, I know you have rewritten mine by being my friend …

Last year’s global cinematic cultural sensation, which became the most successful Broadway film adaptation of all time, now reaches its epic, electrifying, emotional conclusion in Wicked: For Good.

Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz’s silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).

Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and revelling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard.

The ELO Encounter: Face The Music

The ELO Encounter: Face The Music

Roll over Beethoven, because the greatest tribute to Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra is here! In an all live show featuring soaring strings, striking vocal harmonies and playing all the much loved songs from ELO’s hit-filled library including Evil Woman, Telephone Line and Don’t Bring Me Down. The ELO Encounter promises a night filled with rock, roll and Blue Skies that would make even Mozart mambo and Bach boogie! So Hold On Tight because Rock and Roll Is King in a show that is guaranteed to have you partying All Over The World.

Not only flawlessly recreating the wonderful music of ELO, it’s a spectacular live show from start to finish. Stunning lights and special effects create an atmosphere that will have you fully immersed in the whole experience. As the ELO Encounter reel off ELO classic hit after hit, it’s guaranteed to have the hairs on the back of your neck dancing in time to the music!

As a recent reviewer remarked, “Not really a tribute, that cheapens what this band does, which is to transport you back to those days. So sensitively and authentically done, at times it felt like it was actually ELO being mirrored up there on the stage”.

That’s what The ELO Encounter tribute show is all about.

For gorgeous melody, spellbinding coloratura, and virtuoso vocal fireworks, I Puritani has few equals. Soprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are Elvira and Arturo, brought together by love and torn apart by the political rifts of the English Civil War, with baritone Artur Rucinski as Riccardo, betrothed to Elvira against her will, and bass- baritone Christian Van Horn as Elvira’s sympathetic uncle, Giorgio.
